THE road network has suffered from a lack of investment for too long.
There is now a problem which is common throughout Hampshire.
Building new roads cost money, but without maintaining the roads properly, they deteriorate very quickly.
If nothing is done, roads with a design life of decades need replacing or major work after just a few years.
There are increasing numbers of vehicles on UK roads, so we need to improve the quality of our road network, reduce congestion and make sure traffic signs give road users the information they need to use roads safely and efficiently.
