DOES the bus company realise the knock-on effect of axing the service from Totton to Southampton General Hospital and Shirley?

Surely they realise that car parking is an absolute nightmare at the hospital and if the bus stops running that means people who work, volunteer and visit the hospital will take their cars instead.

I volunteer at the hospital on a regular basis as a guide and have to deal with all the people who cannot park at present, and who are very upset and frustrated after waiting interminable time in the queues for the car park.

Often traffic is at a stand still on all the roads outside the hospital, especially at visiting times, as people try to get into the grounds to park, causing problems and frustration for all road uses in the area, including the local buses.

Also, my husband has a medical problem which from time to time means he has his driving licence revoked by DVLA sometimes for up to a year, and he needs this bus not only for hospital appointments but also to visit his 99-year-old mother in Shirley.

Please ask the bus company to look at this again, as it will cause a lot of problems for everyone, young and old, to have to go into Southampton to catch another bus to the hospital etc. and most likely cost more if you are a fare paying passenger.
