LIKE a lot of Southampton folk, I worked on Cunard ships around the world, mostly in the West Indies. Not once can I remember any congestion of the scale we see in Southampton.
Sometimes there were three or four cruise ships in on some of these small islands. It beggars belief.
I think our transport department needs looking at and the sooner the better if our city continues as a major cruise city.
It is possible they may take their business if we are not careful.
ALAN GUTHRIE, Hedge End.
