DAILY Echo editor Ian Murray should read Liverpool – A City That Dared to Fight. That is the stand of Southampton councillors Don Thomas and Keith Morrell.
People do not elect a Labour Party to make cuts.
Use reserves, borrow from a bank – essential services are just that, essential.
Working class people in this city did not cause the banking crisis.
Buses, libraries, swimming pools and youth clubs are paid for from the Second World War.
If the gutless Labour councillors won’t defend them, stand aside.
MIKE MARX, Southampton.
