I HAVE just heard the Ed Milliband statement that if elected he will not be allowing a referendum on Euro membership.
The UKIP party must be rubbing their hands at this gaffe. Do all the Labour voters think as he does?
As a devoted Englishman who takes his nationality seriously, it rather smacks of direct rule from his parliament and with no argument to the contrary.
Why, oh why, does he want us all to be Euro hangers-on?
Nigel Farage, despite criticism of a lack of policies, always seems to give a straight answer, a rare animal amongst politicians.
Many people of my age group believe that direct instruction from Parliament is undemocratic, and for myself we believe in this electoral system, and that those elected should always do as their voters want.
I personally believe in the retention of the Royal Family, even if they are used as tools by the current parties.
I cannot believe that Labour supporters are 100 per cent behind disposing of our national heritage to become vassals of European masters.
Once or twice in the past we have stood alone against those who would dominate us, and we should not be afraid of going it alone again .
