Bank holiday taxi fare claim not true

First published in Readers' Letters

IN a recent edition of the Daily Echo, there was a statement in a letter saying that taxi firms charge double on bank holidays. This is not true.

I am a taxi driver, and the only time when we charge any additional fare is 11pm to 2am New Year’s Eve, which is £1 extra.

If the letter writer wishes to confirm this, all he needs to do is visit Southampton City Council’s website for price guides and further information.

C KASSIMY, Southampton.
