FORTY-THREE years ago I founded Southampton Support Group of the Britishfounded Japan animal Welfare Society, in protest at the export to Japan of pedigree dogs and cats.
This is still on-going by some callous breeders, regardless of the evidence that few in Japan see domestic pets like we do.
Whale hunting is another great issue, and we learn this week that yet again Japan will send its whaling fleet into the Southern Ocean on the lame and cruel excuse that it will gather “scientific data” – what, again?
Japan admits that the flesh will be eaten (despite high pollution). Please write damning letters to its embassy at 101/4 Piccadilly W1V 9FN.
