AFTER working the night on Friday, July 11, my hopper packed with food, hand wipes, deodorant and even loo roll, I set off to meet my sister and her partner on Saturday, July 12 at Southampton Common to watch Let’s Rock!

We were more or less the first to get in so we managed to get a good view of the stage, security was good and the planning was excellent.

I was able to walk to the front of the stage and take shots of Altered Images, the lovely Jackie Graham and The Real Thing.

The camera crew even had me up on screen.

This day will be a day that will stay with me for the rest of my life. I met and chatted to some lovely people.

ABC, Howard Jones, Go West, Heaven 17 and Bananarama were also very good.

I waited right to the end although I was knackered and my bed was calling me.

I waited on to see the last act of the night, Mr Billy Ocean, who sang the songs Red Light and Caribbean Queen.

With my arms up, swaying and singing into the night, I thought to myself ‘I don’t want to go home’.

I had such a lovely day and I didn’t have to use my loo roll in fear of the toilets not having any.

The toilet cabins were spotless and clean and there were plenty of loo rolls.

I will be booking my ticket to go again next year for another 12 hours of superb entertainment.

A day I will never forget.
