TAKING my son out for his first driving lesson on Tuesday, July 22 we stopped at Tesco, Bursledon to pick up some L plates for his new car.
Before leaving Tesco and waiting to turn left into Hamble Lane towards Hamble we were hit by a driver on our right hand side as we waited.
My son hadn’t even got into the driver seat and his car had been scraped by another driver.
I sounded my horn but the gentleman continued through. I jumped out and gave chase on foot but the guy kept moving.
We recorded the licence plate but the police told us there was not enough evidence to pursue the case.
I feel really bad that being the driver although stationary that my son’s insurance will probably be affected so badly.
Returning to my car busy drivers were going round the vehicle and getting on with their day. One woman mouthed the words sorry as she drove round.
Hopefully one nice witness may come forward to help us if you print this.
