A SHORT while ago John Moran speculated as to what would happen to the Union Flag, should Scotland decide to leave the United Kingdom.

What does it matter, it does not represent the so called United Kingdom anyway. The English might think that Wales does not exist, as it is not represented in the so called Union Flag, but come with me to my country and my grandchildren and great grandchildren will tell you, in the oldest of European languages, that it most certainly does.

Of course all this started back in 1606, when the Union Flag was first established. By this time England had annexed Wales as part of England when Henry VIII by the Act of Union of 1536 made it a principality instead of a country.

It has been suggested in Parliament lately that, the red dragon should be superimposed in the middle of the Union Flag, but you cannot upset the English Government. Which is why, eventually, the Union will fall apart.

I am not an advocate of this happening, just that the English Government accept that there are four utterly separate, and diverse, Nations in this Union.
