REGARDING plans to develop Green Park.
The park was between Redbridge Road, Wimpson Lane and what is now Kendal Avenue.
With metal gates and railing, it was given to the children of Redbridge in perpetuity with restrictive covenants by the Barker-Mill family in about 1934 or 1936.
We were not in the city of Southampton at the time! Records would be in Winchester or the Barker-Mill family records.
I was not born until 1940, but I remember being told this, and at one time there were small plaques in front of the poplar trees that line one side of the park.
But I do remember the American MPs guarding the entrances! So, how can they build on this park?
