THE EU is designed deliberately so that no member can have too much influence – to suggest that the UK might be able to change it is laughable.

In the unlikely event of all our MEPs agreeing with one another, the combined effect would be about nine per cent.

Similarly the EU is the friend of big business, and of course no small business can afford the time to go through the numerous pages of legislation.

Recently, however, the ‘House of Nonsense’ÿ as it is known by many MEPs has excelled with its latest project TTIP,ÿ or Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership.

This disgusting bill will of course be summarily voted through by this ‘Parliament’ÿ who do not have much time to talk (parlez – origin of the term ‘Parliament’).

There are often 100 items to vote on in one hour, thus our duly elected representatives rely on what one might refer to as a tick tack man in front of them telling them to vote ‘yes’ or ‘no’.

Bizarrely most MEPs do not know what they are voting on.

You want me to tell you the ramifications? That is probably more than your MEP wants to know.

Well big corporations will be able to sue the UK because they don’t like our laws or perhaps because they may consider our minimum wage to be an obstacle to their ambitions.

The NHS will be unable to prevent parts of it from becoming privatised if healthcare companies want a bite of the cherry.

In short any obstacle to international trade may be removed.
