IN every article the Echo has presented about the proposed library cuts it has stated that five libraries are proposed to close. Thank you for the coverage but can you please correct this to say six please?

The mobile library (big turquoise 33ft vehicle) is due to be axed under these proposals and is actually the only library that is due be killed off completely.

It isn’t up for community running, it is going to be deleted, with a complete loss of service. This library provides a vital service to the elderly and to pre schools in their communities.

It’s a standing joke for us but just because we have wheels that doesn’t make us less of a library service, it just means we go where we are needed most.

Our users really need us because most of them have limited mobility.

I know, nice shiny new vehicle to be axed, who pays for the rest of the purchase cost? Saving really?
