I AM an HGV driver and had the misfortune to run out of time at Rownhams services.
It cost me £25 to park there overnight with primative facilities – one shower for both sides of the services and that was lukewarm. Just what we drivers need after nine hours behind the wheel.
Why does the city that is a major hub for transport have no truck-stop with secure parking, showers food etc?
Would some enterprising soul from the city council or the owners of the docks like to set up such a business or is there another reason why we hard-working drivers have to go without in Southampton?
TIM SAVAGE, Farnham.
