I was most interested to read the letter from Philip Pearce-Smith about the lack of single cabins on cruise ships.
This has been a major source of revenue for cruise companies for decades so why would they change? They charge for two people and only feed and care for one – it’s a good win.
Perhaps Mr Smith may like to consider a cruise on freighter. They do not often charge extra for single cabins, and if they do it’s a small amount, not double.
