HOW businesses and visitors must get frustrated with Southampton council’s parking policy.
On Saturday night, having spent a lovely afternoon in the Forest, we returned to town to have an evening meal.
Arriving at the Civic Centre car park at 8.15pm I parked and we went and had a lovely meal.
On returning to my car I was gobsmacked to find a parking ticket attached to my windscreen, having used this car park earlier in the year a couple of times – without charge.
On the way out of the car park I noticed a small sign has been attached to a post, informing people that there is now an evening charge in this car park from 6pm-10pm Monday to Saturday.
How daft was I to think that the evening charge in town was standard. Thanks Southampton council, do you really want any visitors in the city at all?
DAVID HISCOTT, Itchen.
