CAN anyone tell me if it is legal for a bank to go into your personal account and transfer funds to your business account that is overdrawn without getting your permission?
I think it is wrong but my bank quite happily do it. Not only did they transfer money without my permission, they did not look to see if any direct debits or Switch payments were going out that day (which they were).
This transfer of money made my account a few hundred pounds overdrawn and then the banks had the cheek to charge £170 for their wrongdoing!
After lengthy irate calls they offered to refund half the charges as a goodwill gesture.
It was the bank who got me in this position. Has anybody else had these kind of problems? They should not be allowed to act like this.
