IT is an interesting paradox to be told by the police how we must all protect ourselves from identity theft, and how a criminal can assume our identity by simply rifling through our rubbish to find a utility bill.
Strangely the authorities do not seem to be concerned when handing out speeding tickets. If, unfortunately you become a victim of the speeding frenzy that seems to grip police forces up and down the country, on sending your licence in to be mandatory endorsed with the three points, and of course the £60 fine.
How is it returned? Second class post!
Surely such an important document should at the very least have to be signed for? Well, No, say the police. But then this would cost more. Less revenue.
So does this prove speeding fines are all about money rather then safety?
