Conservative Councillor Di Brooks should be ashamed (letters April 14).

She tries to deflect criticism of her party as an attack on the hard working officers of New Forest District Council.

It rubs salt into the wounds of the very people they won't pay a living wage to.

As a Cabinet member, she has to take responsibility for mistakes such as the £300,000 taxpayers money lost on the slippery floors fiasco.

The only recycling record that the Tories can be proud of is the continued repetition of claims that they haven't cut front line services.

The voters know that the Tories have slashed bus subsidies.

We have no services in parts of the forest. They are demolishing public toilets. They plan to remove CCTV.

They have made Accredited Community Safety Officers redundant. Cuts to mobile library service, cuts to Age Concern lunch clubs, cuts to grants that help the most vulnerable and the list goes on.

Let the voters judge whether the Liberal Democrats are justified in being bad tempered in the face of this gross incompetence,

COUNCILLOR DAVID HARRISON, New Forest Liberal Democrats.
