MY husband and I, who are both in our 50s, had just completed a 10k running route around Southampton City Centre.

Our route finished at Guildhall Square where we came across a young man, who had collapsed on the pavement in West Marlands Road.

The young man in his mid twenties was evidently having a seizure and was being taken care of by a group of four young skateboarders, approximately aged between 19-21.

We joined the group, and my husband assisted the boys.

One of the group spoke to the Emergency Services on his mobile, and another kept the man calm on the ground, talking to him gently.

The ambulance arrived after 20 minutes and one of the boys helped the paramedic to search through the young man’s mobile contacts to find an emergecy number.

My husband and were most impressed with the boys’ care, support and control in a stressful situation.

They are a credit to the city.
