AS an old man now, I have plenty of time to catch up on my reading of course, and I have enjoyed reading the books of Nevil Shute more than any other author.
Not only is he the greatest author I have ever read but also I am lucky to have a friend who is in a position, when he is able, to get all the books of Nevil Shute.
But I recently found one I am missing which is called What Happened to the Corbetts?
Then my thoughts turned to the contents and I remembered that this in fact was a story of a family living in Southampton at the time the last war started.
If you are interested in what it was like living here at that time it is a wonderful story to read.
