THIS month saw the culmination of seven months of rehearsals and hard work with the production of Showtime on Tour at the O2 Guildhall.

Nearly 200 Brownies, Guides and senior section danced and sung their hearts out for five performances. It was enjoyed by all the girls and the audience that came to watch the show.

The Daily Echo had published and promoted the event with photos of the girls in their costumes prior to the show but unfortunately there was no write up about the first night – a bit disappointing for the performers.

With the younger generation of today getting a bad press, it would have been nice if either South Today or Meridian had come to film the girls having such a fantastic time especially as they were literally across the road from the studios.

It seems as if it is only the bad news that is reported – children showing commitment, having fun and making new and lifelong friends should be celebrated and applauded.

Well done to all those involved in Showtime, you should all be very proud of yourselves.
