I live in an already densely populated part of Southampton in a street that contains mainly large, terraced Edwardian family-sized homes.
Unfortunately, these houses are being bought-up by developers who are converting the properties in three to four self ccontained rented flats.
The street is at saturation point but Southampton City Council do not seem concerned that the character of this street is going downhill rapidly
With so many additional residents now living in this street the strain on local services is immense and parking is near-on impossible, especially in the evening.
This is very reminiscent of the 1960s at a time when unscrupulous landlords were cramming their tenants into substandard housing without regard to them or neighbouring residents.
Are we witnessing the return of the slum landlord?
NAME SUPPLIED, Shirley, Southampton.
