IN RESPONSE to Ms Nokes’ reply to my email regarding fox hunting and that you will be voting for “Pest Control” using dogs, if Pest Control is needed (and again as someone who lives in the country I know that it is now and again) why are dogs needed?

Foxes do not live in their dens 24/7. Trapping and euthanasia is easily done in cases where foxes are causing a problem.

Dogs are not needed, only terrify the animal and there is a big risk of the dogs getting to the fox before the hunter will and ripping the fox to shreds.

Why not allow “Pest Control” to be done by a reputable group using traps or by waiting for the animal to come out at night and shooting using a hide.

No stress to the animal that way. But also no enjoyment for the human either I suppose?

If you truly support “Pest Control” and not animal abuse then raise other methods instead of backing something that, let’s face it, is a thinly veiled excuse for people to take pleasure out of torturing an animal.

Also, following your letter saying that you want to bring us into line with Scotland, I think the Scottish had something to say about that this week.

Communication doesn’t seem to be working out so well there.

Will you still be keeping us in line with Scotland if they pass stronger laws as they are proposing to do.

As this seemed an important part of your letter (Unity with Scotland) I would think this would change how MPs would be voting.
