YOUR readers would probably prefer to make up their own minds about the Testwood paddling pool issue, rather than be misled by Tory Spokesman A J Shepherd (letters August 26).
It isn’t true that this is none of my business – it’s a town council facility located in Totton. You can absolutely rely on me making a fuss if we let down the public.
It would seem that over a thousand people who signed my petition agree with me.
Contrary to what Mr Shepherd suggests, my Lib Dem colleagues and I are working positively with residents to get the council to re-open the pool and to help with the fundraising efforts.
I can live with any personal hostility directed at myself because I know that it is only playing party politics.
The Conservatives are learning a harsh lesson – that people really value public services and they can’t get away with closing them by stealth.
