AFTER reading your article (Daily Echo, January 28) as I understand it, you are suggesting, either all the tips open on weekends only, or fewer tips open, as at present.
I don’t know if you have visited your local tip, especially on a weekend, but certainly at many – Boyatt Wood, Eastleigh, is a good example – the cars waiting to enter and use these tips are queued out onto the main road.
Imagine what it will be like if all the trips to these facilities, over seven days, are crammed into two days.
Surely, it is obvious, that if we do not want more ‘fly tipping’ in the county, we must, if need be, fund the service with extra local tax.
