I ASSUME that the majority of thick Yellow Pages that are delivered to each household are used from time to time.

However, this year, I have also received a very small leaflet from New Forest Council, urging me to recycle. Sadly, it reveals the fact that old copies of Yellow Pages can't be recycled because the yellow dye and ink are too difficult to remove at the paper mill.

Come on, Yellow Pages, why don't you re-launch yourself as White Pages? That way, you would be attracting some publicity, responding to consumer demand for recycling and helping save the planet!
