I’VE always found it very odd that cold calling is allowed.

If you wanted a job done on your property would you:

a) leave it until someone happened to come cold calling and accept their quote on the doorstep or b) have looked into it yourself and got a few quotes from businesses that you invited over?

If someone wanted something done at their home, they wouldn’t wait for some random person to turn up at their house would they?

If nothing else, it’s so frowned upon these days that any legitimate business that partakes in cold calling risks being labelled ‘rogue’ or at the least, ‘a bit dodgy’.

I’m calling for a ban on cold calling.

Many people believe it already is, but sadly it’s not. If you want a job doing then you should always get three quotes and be able to accept the job on your terms. In this day and age people are generally very up front at telling cold callers to go away, but the elderly and the anxious can still really suffer by this.

Cold calling is nothing more than pressure selling and it should be outlawed.
