IT SEEMS ludicrous that our Westminster elite cannot fathom the reasons why there are such huge problems in both the NHS and housing sectors.
It does not take a mathematician to work out that attempting to house the one million immigrants entering the country every three years and admitting thousands of overseas health tourists annually to be treated free-of-charge in our hospitals is unsustainable.
Politicians argue that the latter costs only a small percentage of the NHS budget.
Nevertheless, these patients still require beds for aftercare which often postpones planned operations and blocks the system.
What can’t these erudites see which we mere mortals can?
