Referring to recent comments in the Daily Echo, I can only refer to how the help Romsey MP Sandra Gidley has given us.

I am sure she has such a huge responsibility on her hands and so many aspect of the job that would weaken a lesser being. Whatever concerns the public may have, she has take time in attending to the matter or concern.

It does not always bear fruition or it does not agree with our principles but I have faith in her to do her best.

I am not of any political persuasion but she, along with others in our local representation have done their best and I applaud them for that.

There have been one or two letters in the Daily Echo and I agree there is a sniping between MPs, council and representatives who care to question or oppose others opinions.

It may be constructive and it is most useful for the readers to come to their own conclusions, but there is a certain amount of nastiness which does not go down well.

One of the problems being that most of us cannot see the wood for the trees - every matter is shrouded in a complicated web of secrecy - 'the left hand' etc, I would not mind betting this goes for all of us, MPs, council and representatives alike.

We all have issues that we long to be addressed, at one time a close knit society would deal with all problems arising but as I see it this has been all but destroyed. Unfortunately, the powers-that-be over the years have played snakes and ladders with our lives and literally killed off small close knit communities.

Somehow we, the local population, must keep our heads while Government lose theirs.
