I HOPE I can throw some light on the subject of brown sauce being missing from supermarket shelves.
Recently I could not find Daddies sauce at our local Tesco. It has always been a favourite since my childhood, so I asked at customer services why it was not on sale. They informed me that they no longer stocked it as the company was going out of business.
However, on visiting Asda at Totton there was ample supplies on the shelves. After scrutinising the label on the bottle, I discovered that it is manufactured in the Nether-lands by H J Heinz Holdings for HP Foods Ltd of Hayes, Middlesex.
I cannot be certain if this has always been the case but if you wish to pursue the matter there is a customer careline on 0800 072 4090.
