WHAT a crazy world we live in! On a recent police TV programme I saw an ignorant yob punch an innocent passer-by in the face, without provocation, giving him a very painful swollen face and closed black eye.
He merely received a police caution!
An ignorant foul mouthed yob provokes a decent police officer and receives some slight pain (Echo March 24).
What happens? Instead of the alleged "victim" being advised to take out his own summons for common assault (as used to happen in the 50s) the officer is suspended for nearly a year (for inquiries that should only take a day), taken to court and made to pay the yob £660.
No wonder the louts are taking control of the country and police regularly fail to respond!
