While attending the Remembrance Day parade in Botley, I was to witness the lack of respect shown to the past and present service personal. The different organizations, taking part in the parade and onlookers, showed dignity and respect to those people who have lost their lives.
What I found so disrespectfully was the lack of a road closures, (when there is an alternate route round Botley) while this service was conducted outside the church. The two minutes silence was not adhered to by passing motorist, thereby losing depth of meaning to the children taking part. my only regret is I did not have the courage to stop the traffic.
