I AM a resident of North Stoneham and do not have any political affiliations. I am prompted to write to congratulate Steve Sharp of Boorley Green (Letters, October 27) on his observations of democracy in action at Eastleigh Borough Council.
I believe the consultation procedure the council will arrange will be a done deal. Will the people speak? Will the council take notice?
The leader states (Daily Echo, October 27) ‘the views of local people are important to us and I encourage all local people to have their say and comment on the Draft Local Plan’.
So there you are democracy in action.
The area where I live will be directly affected by EBC’s plan to build on Stoneham Park.
Is the Lib Dem council of Eastleigh determined to leave the legacy of destroying hundreds of years of history and heritage?
