RICHARD A Jacob is correct about the photograph published on April 7, it is the old Victorian house at the top of the hill in Romsey Road, Southampton. In the 1980s I had a couple of friends that lived there as it was rented out as bedsits.
At the time there was a rumour that the tower was haunted and that a person had hanged themself in the tower. In the Second World War it was said that this tower was used as a lookout.
