I WOULD like to know what is going on with Southampton City Council and other authorities who seem determined to stop FOSOC (Friends of Southampton Old Cemetery) doing its invaluable work.
FOSOC consists of volunteers who, unpaid, work in the cemetery, pictured, to clear graves from being choked with ivy, brambles and bushes. We do not destroy the natural habitat.
Graves are covered in ivy brambles, bushes and trees. FOSOC finds and clears graves for many people trying to find family members.
I have at least ten family members buried there. I do not want their graves, and especially my mother’s, to be covered in ivy and brambles. I wish to be able to place flowers on their graves, and remember, they are my family.
CHRISTINE BOWLES, Southampton.
