WITH reference to the new bus timetables, I would like to make the following observations.

If the bus company had tried they couldn’t have produced a more complicated timetable. Fair enough to alter the times and routes but why change all the numbers?

In Locks Heath we get the Numbers 4, 4a and X4 and it is difficult to work out which one goes where.

I am sure the drivers will tell you that someone will ask where the bus goes at every stop. The nice drivers will tell you but the not so nice will suggest that you look on the front of the bus (I hasten to add there are more nice ones!). When you are 80- something and your eyesight is not what it was, it is very difficult to follow this timetable.

Also, while I welcome the fact that the bus now goes from Southampton to Portsmouth, did it not occur to the powers that be that it will be popular?

Every bus I have travelled on so far has been very full and frequently passengers have had to be left behind from Titchfield onwards. We either need a more frequent service or a double decker bus.
