ALAN Reynard (Letters, June 28) is reading more than was intended into my letter regarding Labour councillor Jacqui Rayment’s decision to support and vote for the closure of Shirley and Portswood police stations.
My letter was simply to set the record straight as frequently Labour activists have sought to try to confuse residents.
It is important that elected representatives are accountable for their decisions and that they are honest with the public.
The decision to remove front desk facilities was wrong and I will continue to fight to ensure that replacement police buildings in the community are accessible by residents.
CLLR JEREMY MOULTON, Hampshire Police Authority member (Conservative).
