I AM replying to Carol Scarborough, ‘Fluoridation at any cost?’ (In my view, Daily Echo July 12).

What a great letter. She is right it will not be the Southerm Regional Health Authority (SHA) that will pay for our bottled water or any other filtration system that we might need for our home. It would be very expensive to install and not very effective.

As Carol says, the SHA won’t pay. But we will all pay the biggest cost with our health and the health of babies that should not have fluoride at all.

I wish some people would stop thinking that because fluoride is in toothpaste it is safe. At least with toothpaste it is your choice and you can spit it out.

The fluoride the SHA want to put in our water supply is a waste product from the steel and aluminium industry which will weaken the immune system and can cause other health problems.
