ALTHOUGH I can sympathise with those responsible for the ‘ghost bike’ at Ipley crossroads on the Lyndhurst to Applemore road, I would seriously question their wisdom.
After first seeing the bike I found myself actually questioning whether I had been looking at the traffic or the bike after having already crossed the junction.
In a recent Echo I see that there has been another acident at this junction involving this time a motorcyle in which the pillion passenger was seriously injured. This appears to have taken place on the day on which I had also found myself distracted.
I would ask those responsible or the police to remove the ‘ghost bike’ before there is another fatality at that spot. There are far too many accidents at that crossroads without any further distractions.
Hythe Motorist, name and address supplied.
