IT is stated by your article “Experts predict jellyfish baby boom thanks to rising sea temperatures” (Daily Echo, August 8) that certain fish are ‘now’ populating British waters.
With quotes such as ‘now being seen’ or ‘lighting up’ the British sea bed in the ‘past 15 years’ inferring that this is a new and dramatic global warming or sea temperature rising development.
Infestations of various types of jellyfish have occurred in British waters for over 50 years to my knowledge which is as long as I have been on this planet.
In addition, the four other specific seawater creatures you refer to have also been roaming our waters in considerable numbers for at least the same period and probably an awful lot longer!
