THERE are mistaken identities and plenty of mischief in Dalian Player’s latest offering Look Who’s Talking.

Suburban couple Shelia and Andrew are both tempted to stray whilst under the influence. With no harm done and no vows broken they return to their suburban life both forgetting the invitations they have made to the parties they met on their night apart.

On a summer Sunday Brian arrives to enjoy a lunch with Shelia, an invitation she denies giving. Carole, Andrew’s secretary arrives with her suitcase ready for a week with Andrew in Italy, an invitation he has forgotten.

Mistaken identities are used as excuses and Shelia's friend Jane is her excuse... until she turns up.

Andrew tries to convince Shelia that Carole is collecting jumble for the Scouts. They all have a pre lunch drink together all believing the alibis but all instrumental in helping the alibis fall apart with comical effect.

The play ends with Shelia and Andrew realising that both their “games are up” and a permanent truce is called as Brian and Carole head off to Italy with grins from ear to ear!

WINCHESTER Operatic Society presents the second show of its centenary year – the musical Billy, based on the classic Keith Waterhouse novel Billy Liar.

Set in early 1960s Yorkshire, Billy follows a day in the very complicated life of undertaker's clerk Billy Fisher.

Billy is a dreamer – and a liar. He is courting at least two, possibly three, eligible young ladies who each have their eye on an elusive engagement ring! Not content with life in Stradhoughton with his Mum, Dad and Gran, he believes he is destined for greatness – a film star, a scriptwriter, President of his own invented land – and anything else glamorous that could occur to him!

The show runs from Tuesday to Saturday at Theatre Royal Winchester.

Box Office: 01962 840440.
