Fordingbridge Players are holding an open play reading for their future production of The Railway Children on Tuesday, May 12 at 7.30pm at the Drama Studio, Burgate School.

This is the play adaptation of the story of a London family, who are forced to move to Yorkshire when their father is inexplicably taken away from them.

It is a heart-warming tale and there will be many opportunities to explore new ways of staging such a production.

In order to proceed with this exciting venture the Players are now looking to cast the play.

Female and male actors are needed as well as eight young people: three main children (Bobby, Phyllis and Peter) and also children to play the Perks family, ranging in ages.

Set-builders and stage hands are also required, willing to be in costume to help to change sets and help to create the character of the early 1900s.

This production will be staged during the half-term holiday in February 2016 with rehearsals beginning in September.

Go along to the first meeting and play reading of The Railway Children and be a part of this exciting show.
