ICONIC double act Jeeves and Wooster come to Salisbury Playhouse from Tuesday May 19- Saturday May 23 with an evening of perfect nonsense.

After being immortalised in P.G Wodehouse’s well-loved books and the television series starring Stephen Fry and Hugh Laurie, this popular pair has taken to the stage with the hilarious, award winning production Jeeves & Wooster in Perfect Nonsense.

Full of mishaps, confusion, near misses on the marriage front and escapades to steal a silver cow creamer from Totleigh Towers, the play is packed with jokes and entertainment.

As ever, the hapless Bertie gets himself into all manner of social scrapes relying on his trusty valet to save him from embarrassment.

“It’s the combination of wonderful language and absurd situations which make this show so fantastic,” said Jason Thorpe, who plays Jeeves.

“It’s packed with jokes but the storyline is quite faithful to one of the original books - with some cracking lines from P.G Wodehouse’s other novels added in.

“This is such a great production to be part of because the laughs from the audience are so loud and come so often. People really do have a fantastic time watching it and the reaction has been incredible.”

Blending physical comedy with absurd situations and jokes, the three-strong cast plays a myriad of characters in this show that is full of quick changes and surprises.

Edward Hancock plays the role of the charmingly incapable Bertie Wooster and Christopher Ryan is Seppings in this laugh-out-loud play adapted for the stage by Robert and David Goodale.

Jeeves and Wooster in Perfect Nonsense comes to Salisbury Playhouse from Tuesday, May 19 to Saturday, May 23 at 7.30pm with matinees on Thursday, Friday and Saturday at 2.15pm.
