Our House, The Mayflower BEING a huge fan of the band Madness I was curious to see Our House at Southampton’s Mayflower theatre.
I was hoping for lots of the best Madness songs, some fun and laughs, and I wasn’t disappointed.
Featuring most of the 80s pop sensations’ songs, such as House of Fun, My Girl and Baggy Trousers, Our House tells the story of Joe Casey, played by Chris Carswell, from Basingstoke, who falls in love for the first time and the fateful day when something happens to tear his world in two.
The strong cast included Gwyneth Strong – Cassandra in Only Fools and Horses – as Joe’s long suffering mum, Kath Casey.
Equally, Chris Carswell was convincing as the diamond in the rough lead character.
The stunning choreography topped off the toe tapping tunes and added that visual sparkle.
All in all, a cracking night out.
Our House runs at the Mayflower until Saturday.
