The Egg has been perched on top of Nursery Rhyme Land’s focal wall for over 1,000 years, with the kingdom flourishing. But when it is malevolently destroyed, the kingdom is plunged into deathly ice. Will Humpty Dumpty emerge from his broken shell to save the day?

From the moment the one-man-orchestra (MD Richard Daniels – it’s amazing what can be achieved on a computerised keyboard!) entered the hall, the audience was immersed in a fantasy tale full of fun and yolks – er, jokes.

The charismatic principal line-up was wonderfully supported by the ensemble – especially the younger members, full of smiles, excellent diction, focused and responsive, and dancing Kerry Evan’s lively choreography with gusto.

However, even the well-disciplined children were upstaged by the ultimate scene-stealer, Douglas the Dog.

With colourful pop-up book scenery, brilliant costumes and make-up to match, the characterisations, comic flair and musical numbers resulted in a thoroughly entertaining pantomime.
