CHRISTMAS has well and truly arrived at The Nuffield, where rehearsals for the Christmas production of Kenneth Grahame’s beloved children’s classic, The Wind in the Willows, are under way.

A talented cast features a number of familiar faces, including Matt Cullum, who stole the show as the outrageous unicycle- riding Widow Twankey in last year’s rip-roaring Aladdin, and Nicola Blackman who comes to Southampton from her home in New York following her last Nuffield performance as Glinda in 2005’s glitzy Christmas show The Wizard of Oz.

Andy Spiegel and David Alcock return after their hilarious double- act as the Ugly Sisters in 2006’s The Story of Cinderella and Michael Cole – who appeared in past productions Peter Pan, James and the Giant Peach and Aladdin – is busy mastering the art of stilt walking for his role as Albert the Horse.

Patrick Sandford is directing his 21st Christmas show at The Nuffield.
