THE former Station Youth Centre at Chandler’s Ford is now the permanent home of Centrestage Productions Youth theatre (CPYT). Eastleigh Borough Council has transferred the lease for the buildings and grounds, near Chandler’s Ford Station, to the company.
Deputy Mayor Councillor John Caldwell joined members of CPYT at a renaming ceremony. Now to be known as The Arch, reflecting the arch of the theatre stage, the centre provides rehearsal facilities for CPYT and will also benefit other local organisations.
A new sign, donated by long time supporter of the youth theatre, Keith Dixon in memory of his father David, was unveiled by CPYT members Kelly and Lisa McGreal, and Tom Gale, who first suggested The Arch as the new name.
CPYT is currently rehearsing for their production of Les Misérables School Edition to be performed at The Point in Eastleigh in February.
