FOUR London children are evacuated to a professor’s country home during the Second World War.
There they find a magic wardrobe which leads to a mystical land called Narnia, currently ruled by an evil witch. To defeat the witch, they must join forces with mighty lion Aslan.
A strong production under Andrew Hodgson’s great direction was led with impressive performances by Rylee Dolron (deliciously wicked Witch), Paul Budgen (a wonderfully entertaining Beaver) and Jack Bradfield (perfectly petulant Edmund).
Choreography was excellent, movement specific to various animals and the singing was lovely.
An imaginative set, atmospheric lighting, and minute attention to detail with make-up and costumes, this all made for a splendidly magical entertainment.
