FAREHAM Musical Society is searching for the perfect pooch to bring their next show to life.

The theatre group is performing three episodes of Fawlty Towers next month – and one of them requires a real shih tzu to take to the stage and bite on cue!

The dog will have a cameo role in The Kipper and the Corpse, an episode from the muchloved cult TV series.

Chairman and dog lover Graeme Clements, who plays Manuel in the show, said: “We’re looking for a suitable pooch which the owner knows won’t panic and will be able to sit and behave and look cute, as well as giving us a nip!

“The dog comes on three times in different scenes, needs to wear a bow in its hair and be available for a couple of rehearsals on Sundays before the show. It would suit an older dog who is quite placid.

Fareham Musical Society will also be staging the episodes The Anniversary and The Psyciatrist at Ferneham Hall from June 12 to 14.
